SEMI-DETACHED HOUSES FOR RENT IN SINGAPORE
Very rarely available as locals
buy them for owner occupation. Around 90% of the Singaporeans
live in apartments which are less expensive than semi-detached
and detached houses. Therefore, the supply is not large and those
who purchase the landed properties tend to live in them rather than
look for tenants who may destroy the interiors.
Furthermore, rental yields at less than 2% of purchase price are not
attractive for investment purposes. Since the supply is limited,
rentals are higher in expatriate areas of District 9, 10 and 11 and
near the American School in Woodlands. Expats have to be decisive
and commit early after viewing as the demand is greater due to
scarcity.
Now and then, one or two units will be available for rent. The
semi-detached houses do not have a pool as the land area is usually
smaller, at around 4,000 to 5,000 sq ft.
