Young Caucasians (less than 35 years old) working in the financial arena love to live near to Raffles Place, Suntec City or Shenton Way.

They work long hours and do have trouble getting a taxi during the hours of around 5-7 pm in the above mentioned areas. Proximity to the subway will be most idea. Waterfront condos attract many of them.

The company usually gives them around S$2,000 as a housing allowance. Many are newly married and love their wives. They want their wives (if there are no young children) to be near to amenities and not live isolated from other expatriates. Wives usually have no employment and spend time going out with other expatriate wives, therefore downtown condos are top choices.

In the case of the Australian stockbroker, he was excited with Aspen Heights Condo which has a good-sized air conditioned gym, tennis court and is brand new. However, the Owners of the last few 2-bedrooms available seem to be asking S$3,500 rent, sometimes partially furnished, with the higher floors more demanding.

Grange Tower (too old unit, asking high rents of over $2,500 f/f but 5-minute walk to Orchard/Somerset subway).

The Regalia (3+1 1200 sf, $3,000 f/f, looks old, can't bathe in green long baths unless he is the Incredible Hulk - green man).

Holland Suites - too expensive, asking over $4,000 rent no tennis court, too far.

Tanglin Park - cancelled viewing, too far.

First choice will be the Blk 263, #01-xx because it has more space and is the value for money at $2.2/sf rental space. Although the Owner said it has unobstructed views, it actually has not much view but some roof of the guardhouse and old houses and is next to a power station and car entry/exit into covered car park below. If $3,200 fully furnished is acceptable, this case will close on Monday as cheque has been given to Asia USA for immediate action.

Since higher levels cost more, he was realistic enough not to ask for high floors.
