	URETHROTOMY. Males dogs rarely have lower urinary tract obstruction unlike male cats.  This Chihuahua could not pass urine as urinary stones blocked its urethra at the os penis (bone in the penis) area.  Its bladder was going to rupture if nothing was done.  It needed surgery to create an opening behind the os penis to be able to pass urine and to live.  The cost of surgery and post-operation observation:  $300 - $450. The male dog will urinate like a female.
