| 1. Foreign
Students need a Student's Pass if they stay in Singapore
for more than one month. 2. All Landlords now require Student's Pass as they get jailed 6 months if they rent to illegals. 3. Apply for medical examination too. Procedures outlined in right columns. |
1. Case: Booked 17
apartments in Redwood West and 1 in Ginza Plaza. Jan 6 -
Mar 6 2001 for INSEAD STUDENTS. 2. The Landlord wants Student Pass from your foreigner classmates, otherwise he will be thrown into 6 months mandatory jail. 3. PROCEDURE. Goto: Singapore Immigration webpage, http://www.sir.gov.sg Download form. Give form to Singapore embassy in France. Get letter of approval from that embassy. Give it to INSEAD Singapore when you all arrive. INSEAD Singapore will give you another letter to give it to SIR. This takes time, but the first month is a social visit pass. |
4. The problem is that the
Landlord will not sign the tenancy agreement for more than one month if there is no student pass. 5. MEDICAL TEST. The Student Pass will be issued once the medical tests are OK. Done within a day a Medical Centre. Best is to book appointment with the doctor 7 days in advance.
