Relationships: Husband-wife
Tardiness

"Please go.  My husband will take a taxi to the restaurant."  You could see that the wife was extremely angry with the "tardy" husband.  He must have been legendary in his tardiness.

Once, the working wife's boss did pass a remark that the boss would need to wait for the subordinate's husband to commence the dinner. This was no good for her.

Now, all were waiting for her husband and the driver was grumbling that he would not wait for anybody.  This incident was the straw which broke the camel's back and the wife might want to teach the husband a lesson.  But we were all having a holiday and friends would not leave him behind.

The driver of the Bintan bus shuttle to a kelong restaurant some 15-minute drive away was raring to go.  Everybody was waiting for the husband who was nowhere to be found.   The daughters came but he was somewhere in the hotel room.

Bintan's 6.30 p.m was not Singapore's 6.30 p.m. Was there a mix up as he might not have adjusted his Singapore clock?

Tardiness is a habit in some spouses irk, but nothing much can be done except to divorce them.  There must be an effort to be punctual.

It was a tranquil sea front dinner.  The good friends were there. The food was tasty.   The wife was not communicative.  Somehow, the incident destroyed the jokes and laughter present amongst close friends during this dinner.

What should working wives do with tardy husbands?
Don't invite him to the company dinners and that will solve the problem.  Wives do want to teach husbands a lesson, but will tardy husbands ever wake up from the slumber and learn from the lesson?  One thing about this incident.  Who says Asian wives are meek?
